I stopped blogging a rant and wrote about something else.
I don’t like the prophetic polemics that want to come out of my mouth sometimes. The one right now that is fighting to come out somewhere is that worship music that is a rock concert cannot replace worship music that is soaked in the Holy Spirit. You can make a rocking tribute to U2-style stadium rock, but the bobbing heads don’t equate worshipping hearts. Hillsongs does it, but they're not popular because it's rock music. Vineyard did it in the 90's but they weren't popular because they sounded like popular music... people actually experienced God during worship.
But I’ll stop there.
Polemics never make good blog posts anymore. They're just rants. ha.

Carlsbad part 2
Tried to do another photoshoot at carlsbad. It still isn't very interesting. Tried to make the most of it without taking any couple pictures (that's what I get for doing this on valentines... grrrr) but shrug- didn't have as much fun as I did in downtown oceanside. so be it. here are a couple, all of them are at my flickr site.

Anyone ever play StarCraft? Probably not everyone...
Anyways, i've been wanting to say this for a while, but when it comes to my Christian community experience, I always feel like I am a dark templar. uh. yeah. this is several crossing planes of nerdiness and religion. Just needed to puke the thought out. I think I'll stop now.

I am waking up with a hangover from binging on bon iver (his new EP is amazing... but not anymore cheery). It was one of those sentimental nights last night where it's just me, a cup of Tazo Joy tea, the music of a depressed guy who hides in a cabin to make music when he's depressed.
Depressing music is like a sick drug. I need to remember to listen to that music in controlled doses.
